Mayor glamorous resort of Cannes, France to call the film and music stars in the world on Wednesday to help rebuild the city after he was hit by deadly flooding earlier this month.
David Snarling said that the postal address of the known supporters of the city, which is home to the leading film festival in the world each summer, as well as a series of events in the entertainment industry.
"I will send letters to our visitors the great Sharon Stone, manufacturers, all of the Cannes Film Festival jury presidents to find ways to finance the repair of the city," said the newspaper Le Parisian.
Stone has AIDS charity am Far, who placed a high profile Gala Film Festival ambassador.
"It will send an online video in English showing the scale of the disaster. I do request for funds because there are suffering real economic and social catastrophe risk," he added.
Storms and floods along the French Riviera killed at least 20 people in early October which was described as "apocalyptic" scenes.
Up to 180 mm (seven inches) of rain fell from just over three hours at night, turning the streets of glamorous Cannes, Nice and Tibetans garbage-strewn rivers and run several cars into the sea.
Cannes was the worst blow of all, accounts for 40 percent of the damage, "said Snarling.
